I got a referral from a minister friend of mine who was marrying a couple in a few months. He said he rarely gets to refer couples to an OC wedding photographer because he’s usually the last one hired for a wedding, but this time was different because he was the couple’s neighbor. I’m so grateful that I got the referral because this couple was so special and I was so happy to be covering their wedding. Both with children of their own, blending their families together was very important to them. It was so important, that the kids stood by their side as they exchanged vows against an ocean backdrop. This wedding was intimate, classy and definitely a family event to be cherished.
The wedding ceremony was held at Lantern Bay Park which was decorated with touches of white fabrics and crystals. Plumeria-filled lanterns hung from the trees to greet the guests.
One of my favorite times to photograph during a wedding is when the bridal party is getting ready. There’s so much excitement in the room that’s rather indescribable. I love the craziness that somehow all comes together ending with a beautiful bride ready to walk down the aisle!
The bride’s dress was incredibly gorgeous. Its unique, halter-top style had an Italian flare with a solid veil, rather than traditional tulle. Delicate flowers sewn on the dress created a soft garden amongst the sparkling beads. A corset-strap back with satin ribbons that hung down added to the beautiful style of this dress.
There’s something about a bride after the final touches have been added and she stands back for everyone to admire. It just brings out a joyous energy that fills the room and brings tears to the eyes of those close to her.
This bride’s mother was looking down from heaven that day. A photo of her close by throughout the wedding. A beautiful tribute to someone deeply loved and not forgotten. Her rosary tied around the bride’s bouquet.
A gorgeous, tree-lined path creates a beautiful frame for a bride, escorted by her handsome son.
Sometimes there’s a moment when it’s just me and the couple. It’s usually just after the ceremony when I get to steal them away for a few shots. I told this couple to tell each other how they felt now that they were married. To let the emotions flow and to forget I’m even there. Their happiness just glowed on their faces and I can’t help but smile every time I think of that moment.
Congratulations to an awesome couple and fantastic family!
