It’s been awhile since I did Old Towne Orange Senior Portraits, but when I learned more about this young lady inspiring to be a fashion designer, it just made sense to do an urban theme. When she showed up with her stylish dress, platforms and long hair, she reminded me of 1970’s model but there was a modern-theme to her look as well. It’s so great to see Seniors express themselves through their fashion and this lovely lady was no exception as we wandered Old Towne Orange finding great backdrops for her marvelous photos! My husband and I have played a bit of pool in this bar in Old Towne Orange while listening to our friend’s band play. I’m so glad this Senior suggested a shot against the bar’s mural wall.
At some point during the session, I let Seniors come up with their own pose, to do whatever they want and have fun. Envision looking at their favorite magazine (her favorite is Vogue), and recreating a favorite glamour shot! It takes a little confidence to “let go”, but I love the variety of shots it gives my Seniors! We stopped at the historic Watsons Drug and Soda Fountain in Old Towne Orange to get a little nostalgia into the shoot. Over 100 hundred years old, this place is filled with nostalgia. Did you know they filmed “That Thing You Do” here? It’s no wonder. You feel like you’re going back in time when you walk in. A very cool place!
We finally headed to a nearby park to change it up a bit. Fortunate for us there was a garden of yellow irises that created a wonderful foreground.
There’s something special about Old Towne Orange Senior Portraits that I can’t explain. There’s a great energy to that old area of town and I love shooting there. And, the window shopping is fun too! I have to go back and buy a darling shirt I saw in the window with a camera on it! Your Senior session is just a click away! Click here to book your own session!
